The Boathouse LBI Wedding :: Shannon + Chris
Shannon and Chris are both lifeguards, so their wedding style was so fitting. As a couple, they are adventurous and fun, and that really came across in their wedding. Both the bride and groom spent a lot of time in Long Beach Island growing up, so its no surprise they decided on a LBI wedding at The Boathouse.
The Wedding Details
In order to reflect their personalities, they hand made centerpieces out of sea glass collected by their families. In addition, they named each table after a beach that they shared a happy memory at.
From The Bride & Groom
Our vision was simple: to have our wedding day express who we are as a couple: a beachy, laid back, no frills kind of couple. We are very “barefoot on the beach,” so that’s exactly what we are doing for our ceremony. We want our wedding to reflect that so we didn’t want all of the focus to go into little details nobody will notice or remember. Instead, we want to make sure the day is easy-going and enjoyable for everyone (especially us!)!
A Personal Touch
Having a personal touch during their wedding ceremony was a top priority for Shannon and Chris. Therefore, they decided to have her brother officiate. Because he has a close relationship with the couple, the ceremony was truly touching.
It was a perfect LBI wedding. Shannon and Chris told us that their goal was to have that fun, open-air, intimate, beachy feel where everyone can be comfortable and enjoy the party. We are pretty certain they did just that!
Beach cruisers were the perfect prop for Shannon and Chris’s LBI wedding photos.
I cannot think of anything cuter than incorporating beach cruisers into your wedding if you are beach lovers. The “just married” license plates are perfection.
Because it was so sunny, Nina used the trolley as a background to create some shade. The color really makes this bridal party photo pop!
The way Shannon is looking at her groom is making us swoon!
Because we are all about soft and romantic natural light, Nina took Shannon and Chris’ LBI wedding photos at dusk.
We absolutely love a shoeless ceremony. In order to encourage this, they used this cute rustic sign to tell guests to please kick off their shoes.
Even though it may have been a hot day, this little flower girl looked calm, cool, and collected.
Because the bride wanted natural looking wedding makeup, she hired the amazing Make Me Up Eva team and looked great!
While this may be adorable, it is also a meaningful detail. It was created out of sea glass they collected with their families.
