Southern Charm Meets City Chic: Sarah and Rob’s Dreamy Summer Wedding at Summerfield Farms in North Carolina
We absolutely loved photographing Sarah and Rob’s wedding at Summerfield Farms in North Carolina. The venue was stunning and full of lush greenery, and rustic charm. But what really made the day special was the wonderful couple themselves. Sarah and Rob were an absolute dream to work with – they were so laid-back, kind, and clearly head-over-heels in love. We had a blast capturing all the special moments of their big day against the backdrop of Summerfield Farms.
The Wedding Details and Bridal Prep
The day started beautifully as we began photographing the pretty details and bridal prep. The color palette of green, white, and gold perfectly fit this summer wedding, and we couldn’t help but be charmed by the bridesmaids in their matching pink martini PJ sets. They added such a fun and playful energy to the morning, popping streamers and cheering as they celebrated their dear friend’s big day.
The First Looks
After Sarah was dressed, we snapped some truly adorable photos of her with her dog. We then moved on to a special first look with Sarah’s dad. The moment was incredibly emotional as they saw each other for the first time that day. But what made it even more special was when he surprised her with a gift – custom wine bottles to serve at the reception.
Sarah and Rob’s first look was genuinely romantic – it was clear that they were so excited to see each other and start their life together as a married couple. We captured some beautiful, intimate moments between them that will undoubtedly be cherished forever. After the first look, we had a blast taking photos of the two of them together. We even incorporated their dog into some of the shots, adding an extra special touch to the memories we were capturing. The photo session was so much fun and full of laughter and joy.
A Summerfield Farms Ceremony
Sarah and Rob’s wedding ceremony at Summerfield Farms was absolutely beautiful. They exchanged their vows underneath a gigantic tree in the middle of a field, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere. The ceremony was short and sweet, a bonus given the North Carolina hot summer heat. One of our favorite moments captured was when Sarah and Rob met at the top of the aisle and smiled at each other – a truly genuine moment that perfectly encapsulated their love for one another.
We were absolutely blown away when we saw how beautiful the tented reception decor was at Summerfield Farms. Sarah’s vision for her wedding day was perfectly executed by her talented planners, resulting in a timeless and elegant wedding reception that was truly to die for. From the stunning floral centerpieces to the carefully chosen table settings, every detail of the reception decor was flawless. The entire space was warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for Sarah and Rob’s wedding. Summerfield Farms is simply a beautiful venue!
The guests at Sarah and Rob’s wedding reception at Summerfield Farms enjoyed a delicious seated dinner. They listened to heartfelt toasts under the beautifully decorated tent before heading into the barn for an unforgettable night of dancing to the sounds of the band White Ford Bronco. The energy was electric, and everyone was having a fantastic time. The perfect evening was punctuated by an epic sparkler exit, which perfectly capped off an already epic day.
In conclusion, being a part of Sarah and Rob’s wedding day at Summerfield Farms was an incredible experience. We feel so grateful that they packed us in their suitcase and brought us along for the ride to North Carolina. Seeing this NYC duo embrace the Southern charm of Sarah’s hometown was amazing. From the stunning decor to the heartfelt speeches, every moment of their celebration was unforgettable. We are honored to have been able to capture these memories for them and wish them all the love and happiness in the world as they begin their new lives together. Thank you, Sarah and Rob, for allowing us to be a part of your special day!
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
It’s so hard to pick just one! Our favorite moments were spent on the dance floor with all of our best friends and family. It was also so fun to get ready with our best friends the morning of the wedding.
If you could give one piece of advice to another couple planning their wedding what would it be?
Our advice would be to start with your priorities and plan from a place that holds them in the center of all you do. For us, our priorities included everyone being able to bring a date for dancing if they wanted to, a band that would keep everyone on the dance floor all night, a full bar for all to enjoy, and great food. We didn’t want to be limited by numbers, so we searched for a venue that would seat our maximum amount of guests, if necessary. Because our wedding reflected those priorities (we wanted one, big, fun party), we felt totally fulfilled.
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
Our favorite part of wedding planning was focusing on all of the personalized details, and seeing them come to life, piece by piece. We incorporated all of our favorite things. We love margaritas, so we had a margarita bar. We love our dog, so we created signature drinks with her name, and drink stirrers with her on them. We love certain songs, so we paid a little extra to have the string quartet learn them for our ceremony. We really wanted the day to feel like a reflection of us, and that was fun to focus on and explore throughout the planning process.
What made you choose to host your wedding at Summerfield Farms?
First of all, we think our venue is gorgeous. Sarah had her eye on the venue years before getting engaged. The second we visited we knew it would be perfect for us. The team at Summerfield Farms was incredible, and we were able to bring in our own planner as well – their collaboration really made our day what we wanted it to be. We initially visited our venue because it eliminated any stress, rather than creating any stress. The venue could hold our maximum number. The venue was outside, which we really wanted, as we had aspects of both of our faiths incorporated during our ceremony. The venue had a rain plan, which put us at ease. Lastly, we loved so many fun elements – we had a burro walking around during the ceremony and reception with beers and cans of Lambrusco. It was just a really fun place to start with and create.
After looking at your wedding photos what image do you think you will cherish the most?
How can we pick just one? We’d have trouble limiting this to 20 pictures. Rob values a picture taken while dancing with his mom, and the picture of the burro with our wedding party. Sarah values a first look with her grandparents. That was a really special moment.
