Advice for Engaged Couples
Weddings by Kate
I loved everything about photographing Lyndsey + Dave’s wedding at Mountain Creek. First, I had the opportunity to work with a truly fun and amazing couple. Second, I feel most at home on a mountain and, this venue just made my heart sing.
Lyndsey + Dave chose colors to enhance the nature-filled atmosphere – gold, evergreen, white, and charcoal. Their whimsical, rustic them included cherry willow branch centerpieces and string lights accenting exposed beams and cathedral ceilings. Truly a dream to photograph!
We headed up on the gondolas to the top of the mountain for the first look, and the views were simply breathtaking. I have ridden my fair share of gondolas but never while simultaneously photographing a bride and groom. Two of my favorite things wrapped in one day!
Perhaps one of the biggest hits at the wedding were the two ring security guards. They took their role quite seriously and got a great reaction as they walked down the aisle. The flower girls in their extra ruffly dresses were pretty cute too 🙂
One of our very favorite florists, Karma Flowers, created beautiful whimsical floral arrangements that made us drool. The bridesmaids even wore flower crowns!
Can we please photograph a mountaintop wedding every weekend?

I was excited to shoot a wedding at Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, NY for obvious reasons; it’s my favorite place in the world, and also where I got married! I am in love with natural settings, and Cedar Lakes offers so many amazing locations for wedding photos.
