A whimsical boho-inspired fall wedding at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge

The Stone House at Stirling Ridge was the perfect setting for this whimsical boho-inspired fall wedding. The bride and groom planned everything themselves, and it came together beautifully.

To say I am obsessed with this wedding would be an understatement. Maria and Aaron had a great vision, and I was so honored to have been chosen as their wedding photographer and videographer to document their wedding day at the Stone House. Every last detail was incredible, and their rich color scheme featuring burnt orange and green was breathtaking. I also have to shout out to their fabulous wedding planner, Kasia, from June Beri events, who helped make their vision come to life flawlessly.

The Stone House Ballroom is a fantastic location for a New Jersey wedding venue. The ballroom features walls of windows and a bright open space that is perfect for weddings. The Stone House Ballroom has everything you need, and we especially love all of the firepits that create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Twisted Willow Flowers did a fantastic job with the florals and nailed the Boho vision for this wedding. Honestly, I have never seen The Stone House look so amazing!

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

2020 was an unprecedented year for so many couples and families dealing with one struggle after the next. Personally, we had to overcome a very tough loss while diving head first into planning our wedding. It was very challenging to say the least, but all the hard work paid off in spades. We equally loved being able to celebrate with our family and friends, walking through each space and being overwhelmed with happiness seeing everything come together, and sharing our vows with each other in an unbelievably decorated ceremony space.

would it be?

Spring for a day-of coordinator and thank us later. As a type A couple who is confident in our wedding planning skills and execution, we felt it would be beneficial to bring on an extra set of hands to not only be the first line of defense on our wedding day, but provide us an additional layer of thought and consideration for countless aspects of the wedding planning process. We hired a day-of-coordinator for their wedding management services to help align our vendors and manage the flow of the day for a seamless wedding, but received so much more than we could have ever expected. And if anything went wrong that day, we didn’t have a clue! Worth every penny!

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?

Our favorite part of wedding planning was gathering all of the little details that made the day more personal for us. We made sure to incorporate our four-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pup into the day naming one of our signature drinks after her along with an accompanying custom acrylic drawing. We lost our daughter a year before our wedding and wanted to honor her in some way. In addition to a small heart charm dangling from my bouquet, Aaron and I had matching rings made with her name on it that we each wore. And lately, it was important to us to write and recite our vows. All of these details made the day feel extra special.

What made you choose to host your wedding at your venue?

Before booking the Stone House at Stirling Ridge, we had met with and toured over ten other venues, which all fell short in some way or another. It was important to us to find a venue centrally located between my family in New York and Aaron’s family in Pennsylvania. Other key elements we were looking for in a venue included capacity, design and atmosphere, food, and a rain contingency plan. The Ballroom at the Stone House checked all the boxes. We loved the layout and flow of the outdoor covered ceremony space, indoor / outdoor cocktail hour space, and reception area. We also appreciated the minimal aesthetic, which gave us the opportunity to transform the space into exactly what we wanted. Coming from a big traditional Italian family, the food had to be nothing less than excellent. Having eaten at Stone House’s restaurant, we knew we were in good hands.

After looking at your wedding photos, what image do you think you will cherish the most?

During the planning stages, we prepared a very detailed list of posed shots and areas we wanted photographed. And when it came time, Kate and team delivered. All our photos are absolutely gorgeous. But surprisingly, the photo we unanimously said we will cherish the most is a candid shot of us sitting at the sweetheart table laughing and being in the moment.
