Caroline + Chris’s Manasquan River Golf Club Fall Wedding Photos

We are so excited to share Carolyn + and Chris’s Manasquan River Golf Club Fall Wedding Photos with you!  Katie and John had the honor of photographing this special wedding day and we love how everything came out. The wedding was a classic NJ church wedding at St. Rose in Belmar. The overall wedding day style was classic, traditional and timeless with dusty blue accents.  We asked the bride and groom some questions about their wedding day at Manasquan River Golf Club. Make sure to scroll down to see their answers and planning advice!

If you could give one piece of advice to another couple planning their wedding what would it be?

  • Enjoy the process and don’t stress the little things! Decide upfront on the most important things to you and anchor all of your decisions to that. You’re not even going to see half of the little details on wedding day because all you’ll be focused on is each other and having the most fun time ever with all of the people you love. We chose to keep it simple with details and it was the best decision we could have made! Good food, drinks and music are ALL you need!

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?

  • We mentioned that good food, drinks and music were our top priorities – they were also our favorite parts of planning! The hors d’oeuvres tasting and cake tasting were so fun and choosing our wedding menu got us excited. Something unique we also did was how we honored some of our loved ones who are no longer with us. We chose and displayed signature drinks named after our three grandparents – Joan and Corley’s “Bermuda Breeze” and Bruce’s “Boston Lager” – who had passed and even put framed pictures of them next to the signature drink menu. Lastly was our pre-wedding prep call with our band! Going through music preferences and favorite songs/artists and walking through the timeline of the night really started to make it all feel real!

After looking at your wedding photos, what image do you think you will cherish the most?

This was the hardest question of all! For Chris, his favorite photo is of our Grand Exit leaving the Church. He loves it because it captured such a celebratory moment, especially with our whole wedding party cheering in the background. For Caroline, her favorite photo is out on the back 9 of the golf course, where we were walking with our wedding party behind us. It’s a series of candid shots in black and white that were taken from a front and side angle, and they feel so real and intimate, with no posing and huge smiles, and it’s like you can hear the laughter and feel the joy by just looking at them!

What made you choose to host your wedding at your venue?

  • Our wedding venue was probably the easiest decision we made as it was a very sentimental choice. Caroline had grown up at Manasquan River Golf Club since she was little with both sides of her family – celebrating holidays, milestones and more, from Christmas parties and Easter brunches to her grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary and monthly dinners with her family. The staff at the Club was more like family to us and we knew it would be the most special place for us to celebrate our wedding day. Not to mention, the team at the Club has always gone above and beyond to make any event they host perfect, and we knew our wedding would be no exception. To this day, our friends cannot stop talking about how incredible the food and service was!

What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?

  • We both unanimously said that our first dance was the absolute best moment of our wedding day! We chose a little more of an upbeat song – Love You for a Long Time by Maggie Rogers – and decided to take a few dance lessons to make us more comfortable with the music. We didn’t do anything crazy, but we really just wanted to have fun. We practiced at home for a few weeks leading up to the wedding to take away the nerves, but as soon as we entered into the reception and made it to the dance floor, it felt as if everyone disappeared and it was just the two of us having fun and truly being present in the moment! We danced for about 2 minutes of the song and then invited everyone to join us on the dance floor, where we finished out the song dancing alongside everyone we loved. It was such a special way to start the night!
